For the past two years, Luke Jenkins has been an invaluable team member at Hope Timber Pallet & Recycling, currently serving as Inventory Coordinator on the company’s Quick Response Force (QRF). While Luke’s “mission” at Hope Timber doesn’t include high-speed chases like in the videogame Grant Theft Auto, his work requires quick thinking, skill and managing risks…all at full throttle speed.
Originally from California, Luke has spent most of his life here in Central Ohio. He brings invaluable skills to his role, with formal training in drafting, construction, industrial work and surveying. Beyond what he brings to Hope Timber, Luke is also a certified scuba diver, which has taken him to Honduras, Venezuela, Mexico and across the United States. When he’s not serving as Inventory Coordinator, Luke can be found hunting, fishing or working on the farm.
People who know Luke describe him as reliable, independent and a problem-solver. He enjoys the freedom and the flexible schedule his position at Hope Timber offers and thrives on the challenge of “earning his spot” in the family-owned, close-knit company. Above all, Luke values the support of his co-workers, who understand the challenges and time commitment of keeping inventory organized.
Luke’s commitment to his work has not gone unnoticed by company leadership. He excels in communication skills and allows Hope Timber’s core values to guide his interactions with his fellow employees and delivery personnel. Although passionate about his current role, Luke is interested in expanding his skills in drafting, design or safety coordination.
Luke’s constant growth as an Inventory Coordinator has earned him the Employee of the Quarter Award — a testament to the positive impact he has on our team. As his fellow employees at Hope Timber would say, “We are lucky to have him.”
